Kiamichi Area Manager

This is a leadership position within the Arkansas/Oklahoma Regions for Southern Timberlands. The work location is Broken Bow, OK.

This position is responsible for leading the Kiamichi area comprised of approximately 540,000 acres. Position reports to the Arkansas/Oklahoma Region Manager.

Key Functions :
This position is a member of the Arkansas/Oklahoma Region Leadership Team which has the responsibility for helping with the formation and directing the execution of a strategic vision for the area and region that is aligned with Company direction, creating and guiding change, networking and replicating best practices. This position requires the commitment to and championing of our vision and core values that include safety, integrity, citizenship, and sustainability.

As leader of the Kiamichi area, this position is responsible for providing leadership in executing the annual plan for the area that is aligned with the regional strategy, ensuring the needed resources and skills are in place, and implementing and accomplishing the regional plan in a proactive manner, i.e. annual goals, updating quarterly forecast, etc. The position is responsible for focusing the area personnel on understanding and exceeding expectations and role modeling those behaviors that are aligned with our company Vision. The successful candidate will have experience in utilizing supervisory skills including situational management, coaching, counseling, facilitating, performance appraisal and development, team building and time management skills.

Key responsibilities include leadership and providing strategic direction for the area. This position is responsible for managing, mentoring and developing area team members. This position is expected to have the ability to develop, communicate and insure deployment of the strategic vision, shorter term plans, and earnings expectations. The incumbent must build and develop collaborative relations with other Timberlands functional teams and non-timber revenue segments such as Real Estate, Energy, and Natural Resources.

* Bachelor's degree in Forestry, BS/BA in a related field and at least 5 years applicable job experience

* Demonstrated excellence or experience in executing harvesting, silviculture and capital plans

* Environmental and safety champion

* Contract administration

* Budget and planning skills

* Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team of people to achieve and exceed expectations while focusing on safety and continuous improvement

* Ability to successfully lead initiatives that maximize shareholder value

* Ability to work across organizational/functional boundaries effectively

* Excellent communication, time management and selling/persuasion skills

* Excellent computer skills, including FMS and Microsoft Office software

* Demonstrated teaming and leadership skills

* Understanding and commitment to meeting customer value delivery expectations

* Development, replication, and execution of south-wide best practices
